由于Target计划在其门店内开设100多家新的小型迪士尼“店中店”，华特迪士尼公司宣布将关闭其在全国范围内的近60家零售门店。目前，该公司更新了其商店定位工具，以识别在9月15日“或之前”关闭的门店。
迪士尼在3月份宣布，今年将关闭北美至少60家迪士尼商店，近40家门店被列入第一轮关闭的队伍当中。
该公司在3月份表示，它正在减少门店数量，以专注于其电子商务业务。
消费品、游戏和出版总裁斯蒂芬妮·杨当时在一份声明中表示，虽然消费者行为已转向在线购物，但全球大流行已经改变了消费者对零售商的期望。
此次关闭不会影响迪士尼主题公园和其他地点内的600多家店铺。
斯蒂芬妮·杨说：”在过去的几年里，我们一直专注于在全球范围内扩大迪士尼店中店，我们现在计划创建一个更灵活、相互关联的电子商务体验，让消费者可以轻松访问我们所有特许经营店中独特、优质的产品。”
目前，Target 尚未公布具体将开设迪士尼商店的门店清单。
除迪士尼“店中店”外，Target 也在旗下门店内开设了 Ulta Beauty 商店和苹果商店。
