For hundreds of years the Lotus Pond has been at the heart of Baoding’s community, acting as a college for many years, a place for emperors to vacate to during the Qing dynasty and now somewhere for the community to gather and communicate. Many activates take place within the grounds, from traditional Chinese music to calligraphy writing. Visitors travel from all over china to witness the beauty of the Lotus pond and its surrounding grounds.
几百年来，古莲花池一直位于保定市的中心，其中的莲池书院创办以来闻名遐迩，现成为公众园林。周围的居民来这里放松身心，学习古典乐器，老年人来此写写地书，本片从生态、生物和生活的角度，讲述古莲花池自古至今在城市中的作用。
