A documentary about Du Xiaozhou, a Chinese potato farmer living with his family in the middle of the Beishan Mountains situated in the Province of Qinghai. He and his family have dedicated their whole life to growing this tuber, the same as his father and the father of his father. The story follows the inherited tradition and passion for the harvest of potato, one of the main foods of the region and a main participant in the food security policy. At the same time it is an intimate portrait build by strong values of family and tradition. On the other hand story follows the journey of the potato, from its production to the mouth of the population.
这是一部关于青海省民和北山乡的土豆种植户杜小舟和他的家人的纪录片。和他的父亲，以及父亲的父亲一样，杜小舟将种土豆作为自己的毕生事业并为之奉献一生。土豆是青海的主要食物之一，也是国家粮食安全的重要保障。这个故事讲述了北山乡种植土豆的传承，农民收获的喜悦，同时还是一副由家庭和传统的强烈价值观塑造的亲密肖像画。另一方面，纪录片还讲述了土豆从种植到进入餐桌的整个生产过程。
